Jelly Fish :)

Aunt Mary gave Madelyn a beany baby jelly fish that she had gotten for her oldest grandson Collin. The jelly fish has definitely made it rounds seeing that Collin is in high school now. Madelyn took to this jelly fish immediately and it quickly became her little "lovey" that she wants all the time. My Mom was able to find and purchase 4 more on eBay so that we have some back ups and one to leave with the sitter. Madelyn still favors the old jelly fish but has really enjoyed the new ones!!! Thanks Mom! This is a picture that Aunt Mary took while watching Madelyn on Friday while Jim and I worked. Thanks Aunt Mary for helping with Madelyn and for giving her the FAVORITE LOVEY!!!!!

Happy Turkey Day!

Madelyn's first Thanksgiving was a great day and we have so much to be thankful for! We are so thankful to have a healthy, happy and beautiful little girl and for all of our family and friends. We drove to Wichita to have a Thanksgiving feast with my Dad's side of the family. It was a small crowd this year and we didn't play the annual football game but it was great visiting with everyone. Madelyn was all smiles the whole day and really enjoyed showing everyone all of her tricks. We were a little nervous about Madelyn crawling and Grandmother's house not being child proofed but she did great and other then the newspaper and Brody's paci she stuck to her toys. Madelyn had a fun time playing with the kids but she needs to learn to share a little better :o). We ate at around 7:00 and Madelyn enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal consisting of cereal, green beans, sweet potatoes and pears. We left Wichita around 10:00, it was definitely a late when we got home and we both had to work today but it was all worth it. We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Let's Go Shockers!

Well, last night the Shockers came to KC to play in the CBE tournament against Pitt. We got tickets the night before, and decided it would be fun to take Madelyn to her first college basketball game. While the Shox were not able to pull off a win, it was still a good time. Madelyn was clapping with the band and had a great time checking out all of the people.

Can I Fit....I think I'll try!!

Me, Trish and her mom were sitting in the family room eating dinner and watching Madelyn . She was being her usual active self, and we assumed she was crawling towards the end table to look for cords. To our surprise after a little bit of struggling and turning sideways, she was able to actually fit between the end table and the couch. Apparently she had her sights set on the air conditioner vent. She wasn't able to get out so we had to move the table to get her out. Apparently we have a lot to do in order to get the house fully childproofed.

Who is that on the computer??

Madelyn loves watching videos of herself on the computer. She gets very excited and does a lot of giggling and clapping!

Splish Splash... I was taking a bath

Madelyn has always enjoyed a nice relaxing bath. In the past she has just played with her two rubber duckies. Over the past week things have become a little more exciting, and we have had to set up a splash zone around the tub. Aside from everyone being a little wet after bathtime it is neat to see her having so much fun.

Look what I can do.....

Wow, it is amazing how things change! Just last weekend Trish and I had decided that Madelyn was going to be a slow crawler. Over the last few weeks we have been working on putting her on her hands and knees and I have been doing a little crawling boot camp with her :). After she showed virtually no interest and made absolutely no progress, we started to wonder if she would be crawling by Christmas.

Last week the babysitter and her family were sick and over the weekend Madelyn came down with it. Monday night Grandma and Grandpa came to take care of Madelyn while she wasn't feeling good. On Tuesday Mary and Randy came over for dinner. Apparently Madelyn's jellyfish was in front of her and she did a breaststroke move and propelled herself forward to get it. The next day we went to Mary and Randy's house and I was playing peek-a-boo with her from about 2 feet away. To my surprise she actually made it far enough to pull the blanket off my face. Wednesday and Thursday she really started army crawling and by the time my parents left today she had progressed enough to be able to army crawl anywhere to get what she wanted. The phone, remote, camera and tube of Desitin seem to be very popular. The babysitter said she was all over today at her house as well. I don't know what Grandma and Grandpa did while we were at work, but it was amazing how quickly Madelyn picked up this new skill. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for everything, we had a great time and really loved all the meals!!!

Guess what I have.....A TOOTH!!!!

UPDATE: As of tonight it is 2 teeth, both little bottom teeth have broken through.

Finally.......Madelyn woke up this morning and her little bottom tooth broke through. We were so excited for her which made her very happy and all smiles. She doesn't know what to think of her new tooth, all day she has rubbing her tongue against it and making funny faces. Silly girl :) She has been running a fever all day and we are thinking that maybe it is teething related. We having been giving her Motrin which seems to really help!

My Furry Friends

Madelyn adores the dogs and we are so happy with how good Snickers and Cody are with her.

Sippy Cup

After finding sippy cups in Madelyn's closet and noticing that the age range started at 4 months we decided we might be a little behind with the introduction of the sippy cup. Tonight we introduced Madelyn to the sippy cup and she really seemed to enjoy it.
